What is the challenge? We at the Institute for Canadian Citizenship have challenged business leaders and employers across Canada to provide their employees paid time off to attend their citizenship ceremony.
Why is it important? Because small gestures can have a big impact! With polarization and divisiveness on the rise, we all have a role to play in sending new Canadians a clear message that they belong. A citizenship ceremony time-off policy is a simple step that any employer can take toward a more open, diverse, and inclusive workplace and country. Inclusion doesn’t need to be complicated—it just requires action.
Who can sign up? Anyone! Whether you’re a small, medium-sized or large business, a solo entrepreneur, or an individual who supports our idea—you can contribute to a more inclusive society.
